Sharing the Love

Well, I don't believe I've won over any converts to PeopleTowels yet--but now they're offering 40% off for Valentine's Day--how can you resist?

Here's the description for PeopleTowels: "an on-the-go alternative to paper towels... reusable personal hand towels that make going green as easy as drying your hands." That's right, Bring Your Own Towel.

Apparently folks in Japan have been doing this for years. While I've never considered that nation to be particularly environmentally-minded (yeah--I'm talking about whaling, Japan!), there are lots of eco-groovy reasons for carrying your own towel.

And yes, you could just carry around a hand towel, but they're kinda bulky...and the PeopleTowel designs are so dang clever. I've been using mine at work, where the number of paper towels I used became evident on the days no one else was there.

At 40% off? Maybe you should consider BYOT.
A happy teenager with PeopleTowels.

  1. You are one of the few tree-huggers I know who actually walks the walk.  Yay Pat!!

  2. (Actually hugs the trees too.)
I think LOTS of people walk the walk--anyone who bothers to recycle, ride a bike, walk, or take public transport, composting, carry a bag into the store, pick up litter. Why, I betcha even the daughter of a logger does one or two of those things...

  3. Oh, Pat, if you keep blogging about this, you'll get me.  I feel so guilty using paper towels.  I switched the the half-towels to massage my footprint and guilt.  Now you want me to do more laundry?  You keep working on me, girl.

  4. More laundry? Aw, you just throw the little scrap in there with the rest of the towels. Easy peasey. You gotta come up with a better argument than that! (Did I mention that PeopleTowels are 40% off right now?)

Good job with the half towels, tho!

  5. So simple yet so effective. And there's the whole Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy vibe about it too. ( Towel Day is 25 May.)

  6. Interesting.  What's the texture of those PeopleTowels?  I carry a thick handkerchief around with me for a variety of uses, until I actually do use it to blow my nose.

  7. Yes! They used to have a towel design that was a nod to the Hitchhiker's Guide towel reference, but I couldn't find it on the site last time I'd be a shame if they discontinued it.

  8. They're terrycloth, but not lush. Kinda teeny loops.
