Weekend Haiku & Limericks

It's been a quiet week here in the blogosphere. So for this weekend, let's say the haiku/limerick challenge is: Thanksgiving or something from Monday's nature quote. Feel free to mine the comments, too.

Post your haiku or limericks in the comments, below. Remember the pattern of a haiku is:

First, 5 syllables,
the second line has seven.
And 5 at the end.

A limerick is a wee bit more complicated. Here's one description.

Next week, more subject challenges--this week, it's a free-for-all!

Post your haiku or limerick in the comments, below.

  1. It has been quiet.  I consider that a blessing most of the time.  Here is something I put together about what I put together for the holiday.  Hope yours was peaceful and delicious.

  2. For the very first time in my life,
I went for a black friday strike
    Joanne's whoopdedoo
    overshadowed haiku
then we got the Christmas tree, decorated the house, mailed the Christmas cards, and started wrapping presents until I hit the wall and now we're drinking wine and playing on the computers and I forgot where I was going with this.

  3. No one is shooting
at me.  And I'm not pregnant.
    Thank you, thank you, God!

  4. Each day say thank you
    for each moment encountered.
    Gems enhancing life.

  5. Eruptions happen
in our lives and in nature.
    The burns will leave scars.

  6. Some think quakes excite.
I prefer no bumps or grinds.
    I'd rather have calm.

  7. Despite the bad times,
each day will hold a blessing.
    Today a squirrel danced.
