Monday's Nature Quote

To go in the dark with a light is to know the light. To know the dark, go dark. Go without sight, and find that the dark, too, blooms and sings, and is traveled by dark feet and dark wings.
--Wendell Berry, "To Know the Dark"

  1. There are so many degrees of dark, from what moved in the back of the closet dark, to no one will see us kissing under the trees dark, to why am I awake at 3AM dark.  My favorite is my God the bed feels good dark.  What's yours?

  2. Hmmm, Roxie.  I'd have to save I'm partial to campfire dark and lean back in the field and look at the stars dark.

  3. I like it's dark out in the audience, night at the beach but you can see the breakers dark, and summer night hide and seek dark.

  5. A beautiful photograph and quotation.  I love the early darkness of winter when I can wrap a cloak of darkness around me and go to sleep.

  6. I like moonless night dark. Power-outage darkness is dark in all the corners.
